Time Registration System

As an HR person – I have implemented a new time registration system to escape classical working patterns. It sounds like a contradictio in terminis. But it isn’t. We’re freeing data of the workers from 1 company. Workers are able to check in by neigbours as well. Because together we shape better jobs.

Don't be busy. Just be productive.

The transactions of this new collaboration will be managed at nearly zero cost. A shared and smart contract enables the payrolling and billing for participating companies.

P.S.: But let me admit something. The cluster of companies I am working for is not so far of the Zimmer Tower (Lier). What is time ? – is questioned at the Zimmer Museum and it is kept unanswered (and I have the answer neither).

The leaders of VIPE / TITO Foundation are beta users on FreeFlowPages.

The leadership of VIPE / TITO Foundation are beta users on FreeflowPages. FreeflowPages runs on Threefold Grid and will become an alternative for Facebook. We started an on-line group to facilitate the exploration of new organising tools, like complementary money systems.

Itsyou.online is used to log in Freeflow Pages. Itsyou.online is connected to your own 3Bot. 3Bot manages your own data and workloads on Threefold grid. 3Bot could make a connection to a digital wallet. The innovation space of complementary money is out there.

What if a job is posted in the group and someone commit him/herself to get the job done ? What if that person will get Freeflow tokens in exchange for the time he/she spend ? Will these exchanges support the purpose and mission of VIPE/ TITO ?

We’re going to reflect on these questions. Drop a line to lieve.vereycken@co-inpetto.org if you want to join us in the VIPE/TITO group on FreeflowPages. You’re welcome to explore and learn with us.

You never change things by fighting against the existing reality. To change something build a newe model that makes the old model obselete.

In Love with Nature’s Internet

In the digital infrastructure of Threefold every single person will get its own 3Bot. With 3Bot – data of a person belongs to a person and it will be easy to exchange. I do believe 3Bot is an important feature to get our society organized, a society where people are in love with themselves and Nature’s Internet.

Love the world as your own self, then you can truly care for all things.

Sign up for DataEthics.eu

It took some years, but Data Ethics is on the agenda.
It won’t disappear. It will be an ongoing topic for the coming decades. And you have to be part of the conversation.

I am wondering which book I would suggest to people who want to be introduced to the topic. Will it be – “The Age of Surveillance Capitalism: The Fight for a Human Future at the New Fronter of Power” by Shoshana Zuboff. ? I started to read it.

In the meanwhile, I suggest you to sign up for the newsletter of ThinkDoTank Dataehtics.eu. Learn more about data ethics and speak up. It matters.

You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.

A world with no ads

Read here – big brands are preparing for a world with no ads. It is music to my ears.
And it is not the first time that I do hear this line of thinking. At PIE 2015 (a congres on personal information economy) Unilever was bringing forward.

By giving people their own data, the innovation space for more conscious business is opening up.
The sooner or later we will:
– manage our own personal data;
– claim transprancy in the production chains;
– spend money more consioucly;
– do our task in the circular process of products we are using.

All brands and every single person will join the sustainable business movement. That’s what I believe we are going to accomplish the coming decades. Do you ?

It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the more intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.

Get the knowledge for innovation in your collaboration

Good design is partially creativity an innovation, but primarily knowledge and awareness.

Blockchain is about process innovation in collaboration.
Do you feel that your (potential) stakeholders are grasping the concepts of the blockchain technology ?
Consider to join or co-design a blockchain simulation workshop with Jeroen Perquin (www.blockchain-simulation.nl). I have experienced it as effectieve, fun and insightful.

Happy learning

I have the honour to open up a conversation about Threefold during a guest lecture of the Certified Blockchain Professional Program of Weconomics.
I am grateful for this opportunity.

Threefold’s technology stack, governance structure and network will get introduced to an audience that is open to shape the future in a collaborative, reflective and responsible way.

The picture below and these questions (click) are guiding my preparation.

I don’t want them to believe me, I just want them to think.

Who gets what and why ?

Opportunity for market design knocks. Alvin Roth has written a book about it with the title: Who gets what and why, the hidden world of matchmaking and market Design.

My 10 take-aways of the book are:

  1. Markets are human artifcasts. We can change a market and we can invent one.
  2. Market Design is a Team Sport.
  3. Market design helps solve problems that existing marketplaces haven’t been able to solve naturally.
  4. Design is a noun as well as a verb; even markets whose rules have evolved slowly have a design, although no one may have consciously designed them.
  5. Internet marketplaces have very precise rules, because when a market is on the web, its rules have to be formalized in software.
  6. When we speak about free market, we shouldn’t be thinking of a free-for-all, but rather a market with well designed rules that make it work well.
  7. One thing we’ll see is that the “magic” of the market doesn’t happen by magic: many marketsplaces fail to work well because of poor design. They may fail to make the market thick or safe, or to deal with congestion, and so there’s an opportunity to help them work better.
  8. Succesful designs depend greatly on the details of the market, including the culture and psychology of the participants.
  9. Markets can be dramatically improved when their design encourages people to communicate essential information they might otherwise have kept to themselves.
  10. In matching markets you have to choose and have to be choosen.

A jobmarket is (like most markets) a matching market, a market where you have to be choosen. Get your organisational pupose clear. It matters.

The Curse of Bigness (and the blessing of Threefold Foundations)

To get rid off the curse of bigness we’ve to work first towards a decentralised internet. That is said what is said in this article and that is why I love doing what I do.

I love to contribute to the development of a decentralised internet because it is doable and exiting on the one hand. On the other hand I would to like to take the high road to our next level of prosperity (and avoid the worst (*))

Threefold is mentioned in the article as one of the iniatives working on a decentralised internet. In this picture Threefold explains why they do what they do.

Privacy is condition for freedom. Freedom is a condition for (potential good) market design for a digital economy and society. No single person needs to be excluded: costs are lowering, every person will get its own wallet en get seperate digital services to manage own data.

Maximum freedom to the parts, maximum coherence to the whole.

Brian Goodwin
