Congratulations, You Have The Job ! – (the beauty of a well designed consensus mechanism)

I’ve taken up a teaching assignment: explain Blockchain for 18 year old youngsters. I loved to do it. By getting back to the basics I found the key to explain the beauty of blockchain as simple as possible. Satoshi Nakamoto solved issues of the Byzantine Generals’ Problem and proofed that consensus between parties can be supported by a computional network.

On my way home I start realizing that one of my first employers was inspired by the meaning of the word consenus and has choosen Konsensus as its company name. Konsensus was a recruitment cabinet for financial positions. We earned private data and missions – day after day. Agreements between employers and candidates were crafted with care and professionalism – day after day.

A craftmanship that is disrupted by the first generation of digitized business models. Data became available for gambling in the matching business – everywhere. No permissions seemed to be needed – despite data laws. The poor-data-speedy-matching-bubble-gambling-game is a dead end game. It has led to a bad functioning market. It is a dead end game.

Too much stories behind data are lost and not valued. We can do far better. As said in previous post – I do believe HR is a valuable place to be thanks to the potential of blockchain organising.

We’ve learned that we’ve allowed technological capabilities to dictate policies and practices, rather than ensuring that our laws and values guide our technological capabilities. –Edward Snowden
